JOSE LUIS GANCEDO, S.L. is a third-generation business dedicated to selling tripe and offal products. It was founded in 1903 as a family business and, after enjoying a major expansion in recent years, has grown to the company it is today. We are currently a leading company in the sector, at both the national and international levels, due to the excellence of our products and an outstanding, hardworking team.
The business started out as a family-run tripe and offal shop located in Madrid’s Mercado del Carmen. As the years went by it continued to undergo a major expansion, which implied an increasing need for supply. As a result, it acquired a permit to take animals to the Legazpi Municipal Slaughterhouse, where a module license was obtained, and the first modular refrigerator chamber was installed. Later, in 1985, it worked with three slaughterhouses in Madrid. In recent years its business volume has increased as a result of relationships established with superstores, which required the creation of the company’s first independent cutting and packaging room and the launch of a line of vacuum-packed products and trays ready for the end consumer, which have been very well received. With the growth of the business, refrigerated trucks were added to ensure proper product distribution.
In 1999 the MERCAMADRID MEAT MARKET was created, which is where Jose Luis Gancedo relocated his cutting and packaging rooms, located in the finest facilities available and operated under the constant supervision of the City of Madrid’s veterinary services.
The business became JOSE LUIS GANCEDO, S.L. (L.L.C.) and continues to grow at a steady pace. Its packaging machinery has been updated and a new line of hermetically packaged products created, which allows for distribution throughout Spain. It also has begun exporting.
